Ron and I have worked with ALL kinds of people with different ideas on what their strategy for social networking is. Many of the people we have been working with, have only recently heard about blogging and what it can do for their website/business. Others, it’s just another “flipping thing I have to do every day”.
More often than not, small businesses are being pounded up one side and down the other about how they NEED to join this social network or be more active on that social network. Honestly though, nobody has ALL the time or energy for everything. More importantly, not every social network out there is the right fit for every business either.
I’m sure that by now, you’ve realized that we don’t live in a world where it’s a one size fits all social networking plan.
The important question to ask yourself is, “What is YOUR Strategical Plan?”
The best advice I can give you is … don’t just sign up for EVERY social network out there, do a little research and find out which one will benefit you the most.
Questions to help you determine where your time is best spent:
- Where do your competitors hang out?
- Do you know your target market? If so, where does he/she spend her time online?
- What do you hope to accomplish from social networking?
- Do you have a realistic time frame in place when it comes to expectations on returns?
- Where do your peers spend time?
- What blogs do your competitors interact with?
There are all kinds of ways that you can determine what is right for you. The trick, though, is that YOU are the only one that will know when it’s a right fit or not.
Dig around and see what makes sense for you and once you figure it out … you’ll have the best Strategical Social Networking Plan … for YOU!
