You did it! You conquered the hike, the river, the shopping, the garden, the dragon, and even the outing with family and friends. Wheeewww! You did good. It’s time to reward your spine for hanging in there with you. Now it is time for Scolio-Pilates cool down.
The video demonstrates a quick way to ease the spine to length. When we are active, our spine tends to find its most efficient shape for that activity. However, when we are done moving about and slaying dragons, it’s time to restore the spine. Bring it back to its best length. When you do this, you’ll find that the spine will ease back into all activities with flow and grace, as opposed to guarding and holding. Take the time; Restore your spine.
Scolio-Pilates Cool Down: Tips and Hints
The video is silent so that you can hear the river in the background. Here are some tips for you:
- Fingertips are on the rock like magnets. Magnet the fingers in as you reach the hips long behind you.
- Elongate, don’t round the spine from hips to head.
- Wiggle the head and hips as needed. This is not about creating a spine of steel, it’s about letting your spine find its home base once again. Elongate and gentle wiggle.
- Once elongated, lift an arm. Then lift the other arm. The movement of the arms will help secure your spine length.
Good work, you. Sunshine and Strength look great on you!
