David Hathaway is the go-to guy the RKN Studio team depends on to make sense out of the glorious, yet often overwhelming possibilities technology brings to the table for people and businesses online. His expertise comes into play with setting up the software and systems that put each client’s products into action, whether its web site design/installation and maintenance, or hosting, DNS issues, obscure error messages, email issues and the bizarre things the online work can – and does – throw at you every day.

Building websites for more than twenty years has provided David with great experiences, serious knowledge, and lots of fun stories. But the best part of what he does, he likes to share, is that moment when he makes a client’s day by pulling off some manner of technical magic that makes their lives better.

Bottom line, David fixes the tricky things and unbreaks the broken things, always finding a way to bend software and technology to his will. He’s not afraid to jump in and do the hard work to figure out the best solutions for each client. If something makes him say hmm, he digs in to figure it out and often manages to fix problems that have completely baffled others.

Funky, funny and fearless, David not only knows his stuff when it comes to CSS and code, he also leads a colorful life outside the office as a professional kite flyer with four AKA Grand National Titles, plays in a band, and is an accomplished cat herder. (Can we have a mic drop, please?!)

A creative visionary able to spin powerful, beautiful images out of a tangle of ideas and wisps of inspirations, Jennifer Manduffie is the go-to talent at RKN Studio for all things design and branding. Her talent for understanding each client’s story, brand message, and long term goals results in design that hits the mark every time, even when the client wasn’t even quite sure what they needed.

Jennifer’s design style is anything but predictable. She creates according to the time we live, the medium that communicates best to the demographic, and always searching for the next best way to tell a story or deliver a message. She’s an illustrator, photographer, drone pilot, criminal sketch artist, web designer, and multi-media artist. OK, maybe not a criminal sketch artist, but she does create one-of-a-kind art pieces from salvage, redo furniture, paint, and just about anything else that is artistic in nature. A true creative to her core.

Here at RKN, Jennifer coordinates and directs internal designers and artists as well as outside vendors such as photographers, videographers, web programmers, trade-show vendors, freelance artists, printers, and pizza delivery professionals. And don’t be fooled into thinking she can’t hold her own outside of the studio. She’s also a certified fitness professional who teaches spin, kick boxing, and yoga weekly.

While most people look at a blank screen and blank out, Dawn Mena sees infinite possibilities, firing up her keyboard and creating captivating copy that gets attention, gets results, and helps our clients get what they want. A former editor with the Los Angeles Times, Dawn has a talent for finding the headline stories in every person or business, and sharing it in a way that connects with the right audience.

A gifted ghostwriter, Dawn takes the time to get to know each client, getting in tune with their unique “voice” and projecting it throughout their websites, social media, newsletters and marketing. Clients are often amazed at how much she “gets” them, sometimes able to share what they do more clearly than they can. She fears no deadline, is able to quickly get to the heart of what’s most important for each project, and can take what makes each client brilliant and spin it into marketing and sales tools that support business growth.

When Dawn unplugs, she really unplugs, hiking mountain trails at insanely early hours, riding ATVs with her family, and figuring out ways to add salted caramel to pretty much everything.

Tammy Tashjian steps in to help our clients take their exceptional websites to the next level by installing SEO plugins that boost their visibility, make them search engine friendly, and keep them in the good graces of Google and other search engines.

Running a preschool in a past life gave Tammy courage to face down the complexities of SEO, as well as supernatural patience for going beyond the limits of what everyone says you “should” do, to find what really works best for each client. She works patiently and diligently to establish clients’ professional presence with the directories that count when it comes to casting a wider net to catch attention online. And she deftly handles everything from backlinks to taglines to fussy webmasters with optimization issues, moving clients and customers up the Google ladder with each step.

When she’s not writing scintillating meta-descriptions, you can find Tammy in the bowling alley, on the golf course, or assisting Kristy in their quest to write a new book about the art of creating signature cocktails.

A lover of people and travel, Sunshine Stanfield, loves to search the internet for creative content ideas and new ways to wrangle words to serve our clients. She welcomes the challenge of finding new and creative ways to educate, enthuse, and entertain through strategic creative writing.  

Sunshine loves to take the time to get to know each client and their unique personality and style. She will use her extensive writing and customer service experience to dig deep into creating content that our clients need, and their viewers want. Sunshine thrives on tackling ghostwriting, blogging, social media, newsletters, website content creation, and more and wrestling words into submission.
